Using the Hyflex Template to Build Your Course
IFD has designed and built Hyflex course templates that incorporate principles from James Lang’s “Small Teaching” and a Flipped Learning version of Blooms Taxonomy that detail pre-class, in class, and post-class best practices. These templates allow you to build your course in such a way that you can offer it as: a FlexVU-Campus or FlexVU-Virtual course (with the ability for students to choose to attend in person/virtual or asynchronously online each session), a Hybrid course (with some online activities and some in person activities), or an fully asynchronous online course.
Hyflex Templates
The following course templates can be imported into your course shell:
- 16 Module/1 Day Per Week Hyflex
- 16 Module/2 Day Per Week Hyflex
- 8 Module/1 Day Per Week Hyflex
- 8 Module/2 Day Per Week Hyflex
These templates are available for download in Canvas Commons. (If these templates do not come up as featured content – copy the name of the template and paste it into the Commons search area. Access Commons by clicking on the Commons icon on the left Canvas navigation bar)
Documentation: Import Templates into Your Course
View documentation on how to import these templates into your course. If importing into your official course shell, make sure it is empty or it will overwrite your content. It is recommended that you create a blank course shell to import this template into. Please contact david.rhoads@vanguard.edu with any questions regarding the use of the templates.
